Sat - Dec 18, 2004 - Christmas Toy Run

Santa met us at Charlie Holder's Casino on Boulder Highway in Henderson. We then followed Santa's Sleigh to meet the children of the Boys & Girls Club at nearby Robert Taylor Elementary School. A large number of car clubs and other individuals participated. Everyone was asked to bring at least one unwrapped present. The children were thrilled! See the Toy Run pics......



Sat - Dec 18, 2004 - LVIAC Holiday Party

The Las Vegas Italian Auto Club celebrated the holidays at The Bootlegger Bistro on Las Vegas Blvd & Blue Diamond Road for their Holiday Party. The weather was mild and luncheon was served on the patio overlooking the cars. See the pics......



Friday - Dec 10, 2004 - Holiday Party
Panevino Ristorante was the setting for our annual holiday party this year. Separate parking was provided, and our tables offered a beautiful view of the strip. Panevino Ristorante provided separate parking, a beautiful atmosphere overlooking the airport, and truly excellent cuisine. Not only were the entrees marvelous, there was also more than enough antipaste. Thanks to Carla Lindert and Gordon Tronson for planning this terrific event! See the pics...


Saturday - Dec 4, 2004 - The Lakes
Festival of Lights Car Show at The Lakes invited us again this year to celebrate the holidays. This event really had it all - from food to fun to entertainment, And it brings together our entire community for a beautiful occasion to kick off the holidays. Join us in welcoming new member Robert Fulstone and his beautiful black 308 GTS. Gordon Tronson won a trophy for the best automobile at the event with his beautiful red Lamborghini. Fri-Sun, Nov 5-7, 2004
Death Valley Drive to Furnance Creek Inn was our destination for a journey to the heart of Death Valley. The Furnace Creek Inn is located in Death Valley National Park, approximately 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas, less than a 2 hour drive from Vegas. Serious floods washed out the roads on the most direct route to Death Valley so this event was canceled.

F1 Brunch at Nikki Lee's Pub & Grille We got together again at Nikki Lees Sportsbar, Grille & Pub for the big screen viewing of the Brazilian Formula 1 Grand Prix on the big screen. Nikki Lees is in the mall on the northeast corner of E. Sunset Road and Eastern. The telecast of the race from Brazil started at 10:00 AM, and the room was booked starting at 9:00. Early arrivals watched the televised replays of previous races. Michael Schumacher had already cinched the driver's championship. The breakfast food is good, and the company is always excellent. FCA National membership Chairman Christopher Parr came in from Kansas to discuss the possibility of becoming affiliated with the Ferrari Club of America. If you have an opinion about this possibility, please express yourself on the Forum. See the pictures.


Saturday, October 9 - 9:00 AM
Porsche Club Fourth Annual Rally in the Valley called "Get the Picture". Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Corvette, Viper, and Ferrari Car Clubs participated. See the pictures from this year's event. A fun rally on the highways and byways of the Las Vegas Valley. Approximately two hours driving. We started at "It's A Grind" Coffee Shop on the east side of Rainbow in the shopping center South of Flamingo. Have fun, enjoy your car, meet new people and explain why your wheels are superior to the other guys. An awards luncheon was available at the finish line.



Sun, October 24, 2004 - SOLD OUT
The 2005 Ferrari Bikini Calendar has sold out! Over $400 will be donated to charity. Calendars were purchased by Ferrari fans as far away as Oregon, Maryland, Arizona, Minnesota, and the United Kingdom thanks in large part to our friends at FerrariChat. Thank you for your support and contributions! We also wish to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the first year calendar a success!


Sun, August 29, 2004 - Bill Heard Chevrolet
Wheels for Safe Nest Car Show hosted by the las Vegas Corvettes Association and Bill Heard Chevrolet on Decatur and Alta. Proceeds benefited Safe Nest. There was live music, food, drinks and door prizes. All car clubs were invited, we made a good Ferrari showing. Somemembers brought more than one car. Paul Hesselgesser brought his 1985 288 GTO and his 1992 F40. Both Paul and Bob Lebenson won awards. Congratulations to you both!



Sun, August 21, 2004 - Italian Auto Club
The Las Vegas Italian Auto Club meets at the Tap House on Charleston between Jones and Decatur every third Saturday of the month. This month Paul and Shawna Hesselgesser brought their recently acquired 1992 F40 and 1985 288 GTO delivered only hours before from the auctions in Monterey. Check out the gallery for a number of pictures of these awesome machines. Also join us in welcoming new member John Ratto who came in his beautiful blue AC, the original car Carrol Shelby used for the basis of his 1960s Cobra.



Sat - July 17 2004 - Imperial Palace
FCLV Quarterly Breakfast Business Meeting, Photoshoot & Car Museum Tour
Blue Ox Tavern
We met for our quarterly FCLV business meeting. After the meeting moved to All American Park on Buffalo for pictures with a few bikini models, and then moved on to the Imperial Palace Car Museum to view their extensive rare and exotic car collection. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Suzette Walsh, Juliette Gil and Lisa Weber for greatly discounting their modeling fees and to Photographer Rob Hatrak for donating his services. Calendar proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Diabetes Association. Join us in welcoming new member Reed Radosevich who allowed us to photograph his immaculate 85 Ferrari 308 GTS QV. Thanks to everyone involved in the project we now have enough high quality model photos so our 2005 Ferrari Club Calendar and will be available soon!


Sat - June 12, 2004 - Rampart Casino
     
Bikini Babe Car Show Photoshoot Open to all types of vehicles and clubs, in addition to Ferrari models a large number of Vipers, Corvettes, muscle cars, tuners and a wide variety of other vehicles all made a big showing. Four supermodels posed by our cars for our upcoming 2005 Calendar and two sets of professionals took the photos: Greg Randles and Sports Imaging. Luncheon was available at the Waterside Cafe adjacent to the pool, and that afternoon an open bar was catered by Spiedini Ristorante. See the pictures.


Sunday, June 20, 2004 - F1 Brunch
The Ferrari Club of Las Vegas got together again at Nikki Lees Sportsbar, Grille & Pub for the big screen viewing of the the U.S. Grand Prix. The race started at 9:30 AM, and the room was booked starting at 8:30. Early arrivals watched the televised replays of older races. We looked for Michael Schumacher to win another record string of Formula One World Championships for Ferrari and were not disappointed. The breakfast food is good, and the company is always excellent. Expect at least a dozen Ferrari models to be on display at these get-togethers. A good time is always had by all! Sun - May 30, 2004 - Birthday Bash Car Show
The largest car show in Vegas on the grass with all proceeds going to charity was held at Eldorado Park in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Fund raising techniques for this event consist of selling drawing tickets for contributed item/services, participant registration fees, donations, and vendor fees. Proceeds from this event assist the fund raising goals of the Las Vegas Chapter of SCC, which distributed $250,000 to 41 children’s charities in Southern Nevada in December of 2003. See the pics. In attendance last year were Bob Lebenson, Richard Lebenson, Paul Hesselgesser, Gary Shaw, DeShawn Slaughter, and Jeff Wenger. We had the pleasure of meeting John Cannizzo, President of the Ferrari Owners Club who stopped by to chat.



Saturday, May 8, 2004 - Death Valley
Furnance Creek Inn was our destination for Luncheon in the heart of Death Valley. The Furnace Creek Inn is located in Death Valley National Park, approximately 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas, less than a 2 hour drive from Vegas. We met at Chevron/McDonalds at Warm Springs/Las Vegas Blvd (by Belz Mall). Route guides were distributed at 8:30 AM and we departed at 9:00 AM sharp to arrive by noon for lunch. We drove west on Blue Diamond Road to the Charleston Blvd intersection. We planned to meet up with more participants there. As only a few participants had planned to continue on to Death Valley from there, it was decided to head back to town for breakfast at Mandalay Bay's Four Seasons Restaurant and postpone the drive until Nov 5-7 when temperatures will dip below 100 degrees. Sun, April 25, 2004 - Lake Las Vegas Tour
Luncheon at the Vineyard Ristorante at the Falls Golf Club which has an Italian theme. We started in town and took a short scenic tour to Lake Las Vegas approximately 30 miles east of town. We met at the Morgan Stanley Parking Lot behind Claim Jumpers restaurant at the intersection of Green Valley Parkway & Route 215 at 10:00 AM. We departed by 11:00 AM. Upon arrival we took a short tour around the lake, and then parked all the Ferraris around the courtyard. We then enjoyed brunch at Vineyard Ristorante which overlooks the golf course. This event was organized by Gordon Tronson at 565-3663 or 521-5786. See the pictures.



Saturday, April 17th, 2004 - Meeting
The quarterly FCLV Breakfast and Business Meeting was held at the Blue Ox Tavern - and then we took a Ride & Drive to the Go-Kart Racing Event. We started at Blue Ox Tavern 5825 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89146, SE corner of Sahara and Jones behind the Burlington Coat Factory. Ride & Drive: East on Sahara, and south on I-15 to exit 25 to XPlex Las Vegas Motorsport Raceplex... Sahara east to 1-15 South: Take 1-15 South (12 Miles), Exit 25 (Sloan exit), Make a left off exit, Make right on Las Vegas Blvd, They are 1/4 mile on the left hand side. See the pictures.


Saturday, April 17th, 2004 - Kart Racing
Drive out with us from the Blue Ox Tavern (see above) or meet us at the XPlex Kart Track. The Ferrari Club went outdoor kart racing at XPlex Outdoor Kart Racing on Saturday, April 17th at their facility 10 miles south on I-15 at exit 25. This large track is shaped exactly like a miniature LeMans racetrack with all the authentic challenges of the real fullsize track. Different powered karts are available for arrive and drive from tame to extreme. Choose either a 50 mph Spitfire Kart at $50/half hour, or a 85 mph Rotax Kart at $125/half hour! Helmets, full karting suits, gloves and shoes are provided free, and you may use your own helmet if you prefer. For karting info on the various powered karts call 702-260-6355. XPlex, 15000 S. Sat & Sun, March 27-28, 2004
Radical West Racing invited Ferrari Club Members to participate in free ride-alongs with professional drivers in their Radical race cars. Also running concurrent was the Racer Factory event which some of our members also entered. Radical CEO and new track owner John Morris and his professional drivers took several of us for thrilling rides in their cars capable of 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds! All agreed that the cars are truly radical. Welcome new member Duncan Lee who joined us for a Radical ride and the Racer Factory event in his 2001 Blue 550 Maranello. Here is another hi-rez picture of Duncan and friends. Duncan is one terrific guy! Rich Barker of Racer Factory is a first-rate standup fellow too. See the photos in the gallery. Sonax Infomercial Photoshoot at Lake Las Vegas

Ferrari Club members were invited to participate in the filming of a Sonax Car Polish Photoshoot at Lake Las Vegas for an upcoming infomercial. This European car polish and wax is well known overseas and will be launched with a media blitz in the U.S. soon. Several members were interviewed on camera. See the pics...

FCLV Formula 1 Race on Big Screen TV & Dinner at Nikki Lee's

All-Star Sports Pub & Grille, on the east side of town at 2640 E. Sunset Road (NE corner of Sunset & Eastern), Las Vegas, NV 89120. Highlights from previous races started at 5:00 and today's race started at 6:00 PM. We had a private room reserved with windows overlooking the parking lot. A fairly large group joined us for the race and parked their Ferraris right outside the window. Secure parking was provided in front of the restaurant. We ordered off the menu and cheered Ferrari on to a first and second place victory at the first Formula One race of the season. See the gallery for pics. After the race Oz Gutsche invited a number of us to his nearby home to tour his extensive collection of fine automobiles. His expansive garages house everything from exquisite vintage Cadillacs to Porsche Speedsters including the first automobile he ever owned, a straight eight Pontiac convertible. Join us in welcoming new members Dennis Kinsman and his wife Marty who brought their beautiful 1978 red 308 GTS for the first time, and new member Al Long who brought his beautiful 1995 456 GT dark blue 2+2 Ferrari Coupe all the way from Arizona for this event.


Sat - February 21, 2004 - Indoor Kart Racing
Fast Lap Indoor Kart Racing sponsored by the Sin City BMW Club was crashed by us. We went to see how fast the Beemer guys are. We challenged the BMW Club to match up with the Ferrari Club of Las Vegas at the city's only indoor Kart track. This track allows participants to race with over a dozen others in competition and provides timed printouts. Custom-built Karts feature 200cc Honda engines. 702-736-8113. Open Sun-Thurs 12 pm-11 pm, Fri-Sat 12 pm-12 am. Cost was $20 first race, then $18 thereafter. Track & Winery Tour

We met at P.F. Chang's parking lot on Charleston & Rampart. At 10:00AM route maps were distributed, and at 10:30 we departed for Spring Mountain Motorsports Park. We picked up a couple more cars enroute at the end of Charleston and continued over one of Nevada's most scenic roads. At our destination we took 4 - 5 laps around the race course courtesy of track owner Rupert Bragg-Smith. Then we headed next door to Nevada's premier Pahrump Valley Winery where we ordered off the menu and sampled the vintages. Ferrari models were allowed onto the track for free, and no helmets were required. There were 28 members in attendance including Bill and Joy Snyder participating in their first event. Also join us in welcoming new members Patrick Cho and Kate Ly who surprised her newlywed husband with a membership for his birthday. Happy Birthday Pat! Also welcome Daniel Dolofon who brought out his beautiful yellow 355 Berlinetta. New member Bob Fullerton brought his red '84 Mondial Convertible and friend Steffan Hunt. Please also welcome new member Carla Lindert and her friend Mark Cohen. Thanks also to professional photographer Jason Jenkins who is offering our members free high-res digital images of themselves suitable for printing and framing. Check out his great track photos.

FCLV Quarterly Breakfast Business Meeting

We meet quarterly on the third Saturday of the month. So please mark Jan 17, April 17, July 17, and Oct 16 on your 2004 calendar for FCLV business meetings. Breakfast consisted of a limited menu. We had a good turn out - about 25 people were in attendance. The first order of business was to elect officers to serve a one year term. By unanimous vote we elected Bob Lebenson to President, Gary Shaw to Vice President, David Dewane to Secretary, Paul Hesselgesser to Treasurer, Gordon Jones to Membership Chairman & Regalia Director, and Jeff Wenger to Webmaster & Newsletter Editor. We had a number of new members and three guest speakers: Bob Feeney invited us to show our cars at a charity event for the deaf and blind Sept 24-26th, Norm & Beverly Wolfson invited us to a Rolls Royce Club event March 13th, and Steve Mason offered us free use of helmets, free instruction and the 50% discount to his Pahrump track event for novices on Feb 8th, May 22, September 4, and December 4, 2004. Raymond Castrogiovanni offered a free pre-track safety inspection at his shop on Spring Mountain Rd (702) 257-8827. We also discussed the upcoming go-kart event and the next Sunday's Track & Winery Tour. Then we lined up the cars for photos. Join us in welcoming new members Claudette Cumbey and her son John Cumbey who came in her gray 308 GTS, Raymond Castrogiovanni of Raymond's Auto Service, David's son Nick Mumford, and also George Garlock who brought his beautiful yellow Ferrari.
