Ferrari Club of Las Vegas Members competed in the 24 Hours of LeMons Race in Reno at the Reno-Fernley Raceway. This challenging 2 mile racetrack has very steep elevation changes and plenty of other excitement. FCA Members competing in Reno were Gordon Tronson, Chris Tromba, Jeff Wenger and Chris Willett. Conceived in 2006 in mock homage to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, the LeMons is likewise a marathon of man and machine. But unlike the gentlemanly Gallic race, LeMons is a 24-hour brawl and, more defining, nice cars are not welcome. The rules say that teams can spend no more than $500 on their vehicles before adding safety gear. FCA Members Chris Willett of the Sin City Lemons Team put together a team driving a white Volkswagen Jetta #959 this year. Gordon Tronson, Jeff Wenger, and Chris Tromba of the Down Under Team drove a black 1995 Dodge Stealth #88. For more information about this crazy race see www.24hoursoflemons.com. |
