Zion National Park was absolutely beautiful! The Lotus Club invited us to join them for a drive from Las Vegas to Mesquite, then the Dixie Hwy to St. George, then 15 to Cedar City, then Rte 14 East to Rte 89 (Central Utah) then South through Zions to St. George, and then back home. It's about 400 miles (according to Google Maps) so it's an all day drive leaving about 8-9am and getting home around 6-7pm. Laurie and Reg Eden made the trip. They said it was a great drive! They met at the Iron Skillet (LV Speedway) I-15 at Speedway Blvd, Exit 54 and departed at 9am. The plan for this day trip was to reach Zions at the end of the journey specifically because we wanted it to be the place where we could spend the most time and not feel we needed to rush from there onto another location. They arrived at Zions at about 3:30pm. Time for a rest, a snack and some sight seeing before leaving for home - 2.5 to 3 hours. Some from the Lotus group opted for an overnight stay at one or more of the motels at the exit of the park and finished the journey the next morning. Thanks to Cory Newberry of the Lotus Club at 702-498-5934 for making the arrangements. Thanks to Laurie Eden for the pics. |
