Cars and Coffee was the starting point for this impromptu drive. We met just south of 215 and Eastern at the Cars and Coffee Show. We wanted to take a long, spirited drive since the weather was beginning to cool off. We departed at about 10am on the drive and ended up in Boulder City at the Boulder Dam Brewing Company for lunch. They "brew a bolder damn beer that's 100% natural and in a wide variety of flavors." They also offer an extensive food menu including great brats. From there we drove through the Eldorado Canyon to the abandoned Techatticup Mine, toured the gift shop and parked overlooking the Colorado River. It's the oldest, richest and most famous gold mine in Southern Nevada. Many thanks to Laurie Eden for setting up this fun drive. |
