Mario Andretti Racing was center stage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sat-Sun, Jan 12-13, 2008. Where do race car drivers go to improve their skills? Andretti Racing - of course! These are actual Formula 2000 race cars running flat-out on the outside road course. Almost anyone can qualify to drive these cars for a few laps, a half day, a full day, or for a full weekend - with everything included at a package price. You are running their cars, on their gas, with their mechanics and pitcrew, so you can avoid putting wear and tear on your prized possession! These 2 liter, high-reving 4 cylinder overhead cam engines put out 140 HP, in a 1100 pound open-wheel racecar. That is a horsepower to weight ratio that can only be described as "@&*#$% fast"! A Hewland 4 speed transaxle gearbox with straight cut racing gears allows for no clutch upshifts and fast heel-toe downshifts. Performance is 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with 1 and 1/2 Gs around the track. Expert race car driver instruction is included with laptop printouts of every session. These open wheel formula race cars are capable of a top speed of 140 mph on the front and back straights. A number of Ferrari Club of America members from around the country ran this event including racing veteran Dennis who came in with second fastest time for the weekend, and newcomer Buzz from the Empire State Region who took rookie honors for the Weekend. Join these guys who come back year after year at the same time every year for a racing experience they get nowhere else! |
