Lamborghini Las Vegas invited the Ferrari Club to the Las Vegas unveiling of the Bugatti Veyron. Most attendees agreed that the Veyron looks even better in person than in photos. Welcome to the height of high-performance! The Bugatti Veyron’s 16-cylinder monster engine produces 1001 horsepower for a top speed of more than 250 mph. The French Bugatti Veyron is now considered the fastest production car in the world, narrowly edging out the Swedish Koenigsegg. The Bugatti was started up in the showroom, and many of us got an opportunity to acquaint ourselves with the cockpit. Most interesting was the gauge on far left side of the dash that measures horsepower up to 1001 HP! At $1.2 million it's a super sportscar, and very luxuriously appointed. In addition to the Bugatti and Lamborghinis there are a number of other Ferraris and exotics including the hearse previously owned by John Lennon. After the unveiling a number of us drove south from Las Vegas out to the historic nineteenth century Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, just 7 miles west of Jean, NV to inspect the bullet holes in the walls and the Clark Gable & Carole Lombard memorabilia. Thanks to Bob & Richard Lebenson for the photos. |
